About me

Hey! I’m Kristina, owner of The Cake Corner! I am Irish and am married with 2 beautiful girls. 

I met my now husband in Ireland when he was posted there through the military. We moved to England 5 years ago when he was posted back over. 

Because of being married in the army, we moved quite a few times so I was never in a place long enough to establish a career, never mind a business - we moved three times in 7 months in 2020! 

My love for cakes however, really came alive when my kiddies birthdays came around! I wanted to bake their cakes no matter how awful they were, and I found I actually really enjoyed it! I mostly enjoyed putting so much love and time into something and seeing their reactions and how they got so much joy from it. Once we settled here in Devon, my husband and best friend told me I should really start selling to the public and to just go for it! Then it was born, The Cake Corner! 

I genuinely get so excited to see my customers reactions and feedback from the bakes I make and seeing each persons unique orders come to life. I pride myself on using great quality ingredients and making my own when I can, such as my jams and salted caramels. It has taken many hours of practice to perfect my sponges, especially my buttercream, so that I can create the freehand work that you all love!
